Almost every Thursday in high school I used to write my boyfriend or my friends a Happy Thursday note. Thursday is an interesting day of the week. It falls after Wednesday's mid-week slump, but before the freedom Friday brings. Tests, papers, class, ect. often taint the potential fun of Thursday nights.
In every note, I would write about what I'm thankful for, tell a funny story, or write about how excited I am for upcoming events. It is my belief that Happy Thursday notes are necessary to a complete week. Here is my Happy Thursday note to you from Wellesley!
1. Yesterday, we tied MIT in our soccer game (0-0) and messed up their perfect record. The game went into Double Overtime again (the 6th OT of the season for us) but still we couldn't post a score. It's ok though, since we played our hearts out!
2. I have a cute little pumpkin sitting on my desk thanks to the Wellesley pumpkin patch in town
Bitsy, me, and Ashley at the the pumpkin patch
3. I went to a Columbia Law School panel on Monday and oh my goodness I felt like I was a senior in high school again applying to colleges. They talked about scores, grades, extracurriculars…you know the drill. My mind was overflowing with information. Hang in there, seniors. It will be over soon!
4. Tower Res Staff is planning some exciting events in the future including Best Buddies Trick-or-Treating where a local group of intellectually disabled citizens of Wellesley come to Tower Court and trick-or-treat with the res staff and anyone who wants to volunteer to provide candy at their door! We are also looking forward to the annual Tower High Tea (this year's theme: Breakfast at Tower…like Breakfast at Tiffany's…get it?). Big sisters grab their little sisters for some tea, cookies, & pie. Sounds great to me! Last but not least, 3 of us RAs decided to collaborate on caramel apple-making floor program for our residents. YUM.
5. This weekend is the Harvard Undergraduate Women in Business (HUWIB) Intercollegiate Business Convention! I'm so excited. I went last year and it was fantastic. I remember I stopped by Tory Burch's panel and heard about fashion business, and afterward I went around meeting representatives from top firms such as Goldman Sachs, Barclays Capital, and Morgan Stanley. This year the keynote speakers are Marissa Mayer (Google's VP of Search Product and User Experience), and Lauren Merkin (handbag designer). Registrants also get free tote bags full of goodies!
6. This weekend is also the 46th Head of the Charles Regatta. Everyone is going to watch Wellesley Blue Crew take on the nation's best crew teams in the biggest race of the year!! GO BLUE
That's all for now! HAPPY THURSDAY! Have a great weekend. Get outside if you can!
