Happy to Be:)

Something I have recently realized: I have been off campus every weekend since I’ve been back for winter session (not including track meets). This is kind of crazy. I feel like I’m busier than ever with class and track but I have made more of an effort to go do fun things with friends, as well. I’ve visited friends at other colleges, gone out to eat, attended a few Olin parties, danced a few nights away; the typical college gal life;) Because of my commitment to fun, I think this is shaping up to be my best semester yet. Not even just “fun-wise” but in terms of balance. School is so much easier when you’re treating yourself  at the same time:)

Speaking of fun, last weekend, my friends and I all got together in my room to watch Princess Bride on Friday night. We all fit surprisingly well with my bed and my couch for seating. I took some pictures because it was such an impressive group all together.

On Wednesday, a Geoscience Major friend gave me a tour of the GEOS department. It ROCKED;) lol! The department seems really friendly and fun and now I think I’m going to take a GEOS class:) I liked hanging out and studying there (even though its technically only for GEOS students… Shhh).

I got to see lots and lots of rocks. DISPLAYS of rocks!

And fluorescent rocks!

OOOOOH!

Everything has been making me so happy lately:) I really feel like this semester is so good. I mean, come on, I got excited about rocks. If that does’t tell you something…

Also, my team has been so wonderful recently. We’ve really bonded on our long bus rides back from meets. Last week, Alessandra sang us a beautiful rendition of “America the Beautiful.” And we had a long discussion about the merits of cheese. Here’s a silly picture of Susannah poking her head between the seats:)

Isn’t she adorable:)

Even school hasn’t seemed so stressful lately (even though its more demanding than ever). I had a big Chinese tests last week but I don’t think I let it stress me too much. Although according to Dulce I was a grumpy old man while studying;)

Hehe:) Such a flattering picture

Coming up (before Spring Break), I have three more midterms all in a row. Its gonna be rough. But I’m feeling ready:) Life is good. For perhaps the first time ever, I feel completely happy with where I am, what I’m doing, and where my life is headed. Is that cheesy? I think I’m just finally in a really happy comfortable place with amazing people in my life who care about me. Honestly, I don’t think I could have better friends. My Beebe friends and my teammates are people I can’t imagine living without. I’m so lucky:):)
