Not really… There isn’t actually any snow. But my dorm room is AWESOME! One of my roommates decorated our door with Christmas wrapping paper and snowflakes. We even have Christmas lights and paper snow flakes in our dorm room! Its glorious:) I feel like singing Christmas carols every time I come home.
I have been spending a lot more time out of my dorm room taking advantage of all the wonderful study niches on campus. On Monday, I did homework in a room full of comfy couches in the basement of Lulu.
Yay! There’s all my stuff:) Notice the package there;) My wonderful Aunt sent me a care package as a pick-me-up before finals begin. She sent me an Angry Bird sweatshirt to go with my hat! I really am obsessed… I should post pictures of my dorm room. I have an Angry Bird calendar and plush toys:) Don’t laugh.
I have developed a routine of eating in Stone-Davis with some friends who live there before I come to Admissions on Thursdays. It’s nice to eat with them because I don’t see them as much as I’d like. I’m excited to live closer to my good friends next year. I really like living in Tower but I’m on a floor with mostly upperclasswomen so the sense of community is very different. For that reason I’m very happy to be in a quad:) My roommates have become good friends.
Speaking of next year and housing! I am looking into become an RA. I am so excited about it. I really want to be an RA because I love organizing events and helping people. Being an RA is a little different at Wellesley because RA’s here don’t get payed. The main tangible perk of the job is that you get to live in a single. But the reason I want to do it is because I want to help create community among a group of people. I have felt isolated here at times and I would love to have the opportunity to help others break out of their shell:) I’m super excited about it in case you can’t tell. I will let you all know about the process as it continues. Maybe some of you would like to be RA’s someday too!
Oh my goodness. So only about two weeks left of classes. One of my classes (my writing course) only has two meetings left:) Isn’t that crazy? I can’t believe I’ve almost made it through an entire semester at Wellesley. Things are going pretty well.
I even made some new friends in the TV room on Tuesday night when I went to watch my show (New Girl). I’m just blossoming into a social butterfly! (Not really, but I’m getting there;) )
Happy Holidays to all! Keep up the good work in school:) Only 26 days until Christmas!!!
