Hello hello!
Apologies for my extremely delayed post – I got caught up with life! 4th of July weekend came and went too quickly and was far too busy but was so much fun.
But first! Before I tell you about the FIRST wedding I EVER went to – I’m going to tell you about Dog Day at Fenway. π Which is exactly what it sounds like.
On Monday, June 29, 2015, people from all over the greater Boston area flocked to Fenway with their four-footed friends. Behold:
And this was on the way to and from Fenway. Boston is so pretty. (Also, anyone who’s walked to the House of Blues for a concert before has walked past that little bridge – so cute!)
Some obligatory Fenway Park photos:
Oh and there was a huge line wrapping around the whole field – to get pictures with these World Series trophies. Omar and I didn’t stand in line…but we still got photos of the trophies! π
Oh and there were huge poodles!
And here Omar and Biscuit stare out across the field together:
There were also multiple cameramen around the stadium and Biscuit and Omar managed to get on the big screen!
And that was Dog Day at Fenway. π
Now, on to 4th of July weekend! I flew home on Friday and it was SO good to see my mom again, and eat her cooking, and sit at our dining table where we’ve had so many good conversations over the years.
Then I got to (briefly) visit with Betty! A high school friend. She’s a rising sophomore at UC San Diego.
Then the wedding!! I borrowed a dress from my friend Silvia. Karen looked beautiful in her wedding dress and all the bridesmaids looked stunning. (The wedding was Disney and Sports themed and each of the bridesmaids was a Disney princess.)
All the dwarves!
So much Disney/Sports themed personalization. π
Me and Silvz:
Cutting the cake!
Some more professional photos from the wedding:
In the second to last photo above, all of us were on the Speech and Debate team at our high school. Left to right, from top row to bottom: Abel, Josh, Josh, Alvin, Rahil, myself, Silvz, Sarah, Claire, and Soup (Supriya). We see each other a few times a year and have managed to stay in touch since graduating high school…truly a group of friends I’m grateful to have.
And then at 4am on Sunday, July 5th, I was on my way back to the airport….my angle of a mother was driving me.
Monday, July 6, I’m back at the office…which has lovely pastries! Behold, mini key lime pie below.
And then on Tuesday, I got to have dinner with two of my favorite people on the whole entire planet!! I’ve written posts about them before, you know who they are. ^_^ My adopted grandparents, Jean and Richard, took me to Not Your Average Joe’s, in Arlington.
Aren’t they just the cutest??
And THEN, to make things BETTER, they showed me THESE photos of their kitties!! Blake and Byron are off the cuteness overload chart.
And then I came home and saw that our garden, behind the frat, is doing well. So many cute little sprouts! I’m not sure which plants exactly are sprouting, but we planted carrots, radishes, and beets.
Oh and I got these flowers for myself sometime last week…they make my room so much brighter!
And these were from a while back…before Dog Day at Fenway I believe…but isn’t Biscuit just the most precious puppy ever?!
Omar and I took him out again last night (Wednesday) and went to Boston Commons, then walked down Boylston/Newbury (alternately, since they’re parallel) and got sorbet at Amorino’s on Newbury (highly recommend – our cone down there is mango, raspberry, passion fruit, and grapefruit).
And now you’re all caught up! Quite a lot of information all at once, I know. Life has just been so busy! Hope summer is going well for everyone else. I can’t believe I only have four more weeks left of this internship.
Until next week!
~Emily
