This week, I thought I would talk about the shuttle that runs hourly from Wellesley to Boston during the weekdays, the MIT Exchange Bus. In the past, it had (endearingly) been referred to as The Peter, the college’s collective favorite ~boy~. This year, however, the school decided to try out new company, and I would say, as a frequent user of the shuttle, it has been an overall successful shift! The buses have been arriving on a more timely manner, and ignoring a few minor bumps during the initial shift and settling in, I think the Logan Express is here to stay.
Being someone who regularly depends on the shuttle to take me back and forth in a timely manner, it’s really become an important aspect of my Wellesley experience. Many of my friends are equally dependent due to the classes they take at MIT, the jobs they have in the city, and the overall excitement of leaving the suburbs for some time in the city.
Don’t get me wrong- Wellesley is beautiful, and the campus offers a lot that you simply can’t find in any city. Growing up in a Los Angeles though, sometimes, an Anna’s Taquería burrito craving will hit at 9 pm, and the only answer will be to grab the shuttle into Boston with a friend, grab a carnitas burrito, and share some guacamole and chips, of course.
Whether you’re like me and need the time in a city to feel sane or you grew up in a small town and find the bustle of Boston exciting (if a bit intimidating), I highly advise you try out the shuttle (and Anna’s taqueria…) if you find yourself here!
