Hello! My name is Danica Kim, and I’m a senior with a major in Environmental Studies. I was born and raised in Los Angeles, and I have 2 dogs and a cat (Cashew, Butter, and Olive- yes, I am very much aware of the theme going on there). In the Wellesley community, I’m a part of the Botanistas, Spoon University, and Agora Society- Wellesley’s political society. I am also a yoga instructor at the KSC, and in my free time, I like to cook, go to concerts with friends, and explore Boston’s food and drink scene!
Although a cliché answer to some degree, my love for Wellesley is rooted in the close friendships I have formed during my time on this beautiful campus! I really feel like I lucked out in that because of Wellesley, I’ve already met so many people that I could consider lifelong friends who truly inspire and push me to better myself and have shared memories with me that I will cherish forever.
As a senior, I really feel as though I’ve been through many of Wellesley’s trials and tribulations, traditions, and unique experiences; however, I still want my senior year to be filled with new memories, and I’d love to share those moments with everyone else! Whether it’s the tried and true things like apple picking with friends or more “niche” senior topics like celebrating every time a friend can end their job search process, I want to share the experiences of growing up and with Wellesley women to an audience.
Before I go though, I’ll leave you with my list of top 5 things at Wellesley that have never failed to put me in a better mood:
- Lulu’s Wednesday peanut butter selection
- A walk around Lake Waban on a cooler day
- Late night nachos at the pub with a friend
- Taking a walk through the edible ecosystem/greenhouses (especially when things are blooming!)
- Whenever Graham Cracker Central (a beloved flavor of ice cream) appears at one of the dining halls, and the mad rush for a scoop begins
