~A Recap of Thanksgiving Break~

Hello hello!

What a week it’s been. Break was wonderful! I had so much free time to just relax at home and work on my final papers and take things slow. Played a lot of piano. Watched a lot of tv on youtube. πŸ™‚

I also dog-sat for a friend of mine! Well, a few of my housemates and I collectively dog-sat Pogo. He’s so cute! Here’s a picture of me and him in matching furry-hooded parkas/

I also got to make dumplings with my friend Lotus! She’s an expert at making authentic dumplings (from scratch, too!). We went grocery shopping in Framingham (she has a car!) and then came back and spent the afternoon wrapping dumplings (and wontons) and then eating them! Soooo yummm. I miss authentic Chinese food so much.

And then I also went rock climbing with the BOW (Babson-Olin-Wellesley) climbing team again during break and afterwards had a team bonding-ish thing at a late night diner! πŸ˜€ We got the most unhealthy late night snacks but man did it taste good! Nothing like fried, greasy comfort food. πŸ˜› Haha. I believe our selection was: soysauce garlic chicken wings, sweet potato tots, mozzarella sticks, and fried mac n cheese triangles (hard to imagine if you’ve never had them before–but just think chicken nugget shaped, but with creamy melted mac n cheese inside when you bite into it! Yummm~)

And then also went to Chinatown to celebrate my friend’s birthday with her! We went to a place with Hong Kong style food and it was sooo delicious. Roast duck, char siu (barbequed pork) fried rice, seafood soup, and noodles. Afterwards, we also went to a cafe to study–and ended up having a great conversation with two guys sitting next to us! They were speaking in a foreign language and Mojia was listening and trying to figure it out and they stopped because they noticed she was listening and were a bit thrown off but then it turned out she speaks Arabic (learned it at Wellesley!) and wanted to see if they were speaking Arabic (and they were!) and then the proceeded to communicate in Arabic for a while and they asked her why she was learning Arabic as a Chinese person and it was just such a great moment and conversation!

And also–of course–there was Thanksgiving Dinner! Which I spent with family friends who have a condo on Cape Cod (in Falmouth to be specific). It was a nice small gathering which I really liked (I dread big social situations where you have to make small talk with strangers–gives me so much social anxiety!) and the food was SO good! πŸ˜€ We had mashed potatoes but also some kind of turnip thing that also looked like mashed potatoes…and gluten free stuffing, and roast turkey of course, and also a DELICIOUS cranberry+orange/tangerine sauce! That was so delicious. I kind of want to try making it myself sometime.

Anyway~ That was my break! And now we’re back into the full swing of things…and my countdown continues! Can you believe it…only 3 full weeks left of college! Three! ONLY THREE MORE WEEKS UNTIL I AM FINISHED WITH MY COLLEGE CAREER. How is that possible?? Time passes too quickly. πŸ™

Alright, time to get back to my final papers and exams–which are slowly dwindling in number as I knock them out one by one! πŸ™‚ But nonetheless still quite a lot to do…

Until next week!
