Hello hello ~
We are officially in the period of “the last week of class”! How fast this semester has gone by. I’m feeling very sentimental all of sudden–sad that all my wonderful and interesting classes are coming to an end. Sad that I will never again sit in an undergraduate seminar room and have discussions like the ones I’ve had here at Wellesley. Sad that more likely than not, my pace of learning will slow drastically once these next two weeks are over, because while it’s true I can always read books and learn on my own, it will never be the same as structured, fast-paced, focused classroom learning. I’ll probably pick up art history books or film analysis papers here and there every once in a blue moon, but never again will I put academic learning as my first and foremost priority…
On a happier note, it snowed yesterday! Oh it was so beautiful. For a brief moment I entertained the idea that I could live in a place like New England permanently, maybe. But then I realized I am too much of a Californian and could never actually do it. Ha. (It’s so foreign to me to have to stay so bundled up for so many months out of a year! What is this nonsense!) Here are some pretty pictures of the snow though. (And our campus!)
Also, for the last session of my Chinese Painting Art History class, my professor taught everyone how to paint bamboo and orchids with traditional Chinese brush and ink! My paintings were all very poor…but here’s a picture I got with Professor Liu! I really, really loved his class so much and felt like it helped me understand my own culture so much more…his is one of the classes I’m most sad about ending…
And as usual, I’ve kept up my frequent climbing sessions with the Babson-Olin-Wellesley climbing team! Here’s a picture of me trying not to fall off the wall:
And to end on a more sentimental note once again…here are some pictures of empty classrooms! 🙁 The first was where my Chinese Cinema class was held, also one of my favorite classes of all time (actually probably THE most favorite class I’ve taken at Wellesley). It’s our on-campus theater, the Collins Cinema. And the second picture is where my Chinese Painting Art History class was held, in the Jewett Arts Center. Ah~ so many feels!
Alright, that’s it for now–until next week!
