Stress!

This week has been so hectic! This weekend won't be better. I have to read an entire book, write a paper, take a take home test, and do all my other homework by MONDAY. To top it all off, we have a volleyball tournament at Smith this weekend! If I know myself (and I'm pretty sure I do), I will be extremely tempted to hang out with the team all weekend and I will neglect to do my work. Thankfully, my dad is coming up to the tournament so maybe he will keep me in line. I trust myself to balance the two as well.

Speaking of volleyball, my friend/teammate Allison and I played the role of "Secret Psychers" today. Secret Psychers basically try to pump up the team prior to big games. We face some of the top teams in the region this weekend so we definitely needed something good. Who else would I turn to but Will Ferrell? Allison and I reenacted one of my favorite SNL skits called "Chess Tournament" in which Will and Cheri Oteri play cheerleaders. It's pretty much one of the funniest things I've ever seen. We rewrote the cheers and did them at each team member's door. I think they liked it – but there is definitely more in store for this weekend!

Anyways….I am doing my best to formulate good methods for keeping cool in stressful situations. I think the best thing I've come up with so far is alternate your assignments. I like spending an hour on one subject than switching to another for an hour then maybe going back to the first. It sort of keeps your mind fresh. OR I could just go get an oatmeal cookie from the Campus Center. Seriously. Those things must have been invented by some sort of god. I'm thinking Athena….just because I like her.

Good news: Bob Dylan is coming to Boston in November. Bad news: I am poor and probably cannot afford a ticket.

Well I think that's all for now. I should probably go study for my midterm. Yay Machiavelli!
