What do Wellesley Students do for Spring Break?

Hello Blog!

Welcome to your Wellesley college spring break recap. In this post, I’ll be taking you through what some of my friends did for spring break now that everyone is back on campus and I have heard all of their tales! Last post, I mentioned what I was going to do over spring break, so I thought I would take advantage of how cool all my friends are for this post.

Anna: Anna went on a trip with the ultimate frisbee team (the Whiptails!) where they rented a house in upstate New York. They had 2 tournaments on both weekends where they played against other colleges in the Northeast. In New York, they did a lot of bonding activities together including a talent show, lots of team dinners, a murder mystery party, and exploring the local area. The frisbee team has a trip like this every spring break, so this was her second year going!

Sydney & Emily: These are two of my friends in the guild of carillonneurs! They went to Belgium to visit their friend and former president of the guild at the Royal Carillon School in Belgium. Sydney is considering going there for a year after she graduates too! They stayed at an Airbnb, traveled to different cities, and ate lots of waffles. They visited a lot of old churches and even got to play the organ and the carillon in the city square after speaking with some musicians there! They also brought us back some delicious chocolate, which was very appreciated.

Anabelle: My roommate and friend Anabelle went to London with her parents and little brother. She saw a lots of historical architecture (castles!) and double decker buses. She loves a good graveyard and was thrilled to see the graves of Queen Elizabeth the 2nd and King Henry the 8th. The incredible public transportation (the tube) and delicious food (sunday roast, high tea, etc.) were some more highlights.

Vivian: A few of my friends participated in an alternative break trip organized by Civic Engagement. They spend the week doing environmental community service, which included raking and cleaning botalical gardens, making seed bombs for kids in the community, and building a paddock for horses. They lived in an Airbnb that was right by the beach and provided the opportunity for many sunset photoshoots. When they weren’t working, there was lots of time for baking (so many cookies!), exploring the town (bookstores, consignment shops, etc.), watching movies, playing games, and making friendship bracelets!

Until next time,
