I officially ended my first semester in college. Whoah. I never thought I would be here. I would like to thank all those who came before me.
In addition to being the last day of class, a lot of other cool things happened this past week. I had my last day of Archery and our instructor brought us gifts and cake to celebrate our time together. I had a great time at Archery and really hope to continue it in the future. I learned a lot from this class not just in terms of Archery but I grew personally. I was able to trust myself and my abilities. I was awful the first week but in our last class, I was able to consistently hit the center of the target.
I went to my World Politics professors home for dinner. She invited the whole class as sort of an end of the semester celebration. It was really fun because I was able to see another side of my professor. Her home was beautiful and the food was great. I was nice having a home-cooked meal. College food does get a little old after a while.
I went to a performance by Yanvalou. They are a dance and drum ensemble and they perform and dance to the music of the African Diaspora mostly from Haiti (!) and Ghana. They were incredible. The music and dancing made me really happy. I probably had a big goofy smile on my face. I love it when the cultures of Haiti and the African Diaspora, in general, are showcased for others to see how amazing they are.
We have finals next week and then I am home for a month. Probably relaxing and watching Netflix and Youtube videos. Still, can’t believe I survived my first semester of college. (I should get that on a pin)
