rain, rain, go away

What a rainy April! It has been raining every day for almost a week now.  While it’s a sign that Spring is here (!), I am starting to not like this rain. Marathon Monday was this past Monday. This is the day when the Boston Marathon is held. Part of the marathon runs past Wellesley so tons of Wellesley students get out to support the runners. This past race included a heavy downpour of rain. There was so much rain, I could not believe that they held the race. I wasn’t able to get out to see the race but I saw part of it online. I was amazed by the persistence and courage of the runners to finish the race they had started. I applaud them all.

As a result of the rain, I have been mainly indoors, working on my schoolwork and talking to friends. This has been one of those weeks where everything seems pretty calm and relaxed. It’s nice to have that time in the middle of the mayhem that college can be.

This week is also registration week. Students have begun registering for their Fall classes. Today was also the day that I realized that I will soon be a Junior in college. It’s incredible to think of as well as a little scary. I didn’t register for Fall classes because I will be going abroad in the Fall. I’m in the process of finalizing my plans and will let you know as soon as I do but it’s happening!

Good luck to all the admitted students who are still weighing their options as to what school they would like to attend (I hope you choose Wellesley!).

Until next time,

–Laïssa
