Hello! The semester just ended on Monday and I'm currently at home on Long Island. I finished 3 of my final papers at Wellesley and then left for home on Saturday. It was a strange experience though because I was actually moving out and saying goodbye to my Wellesley friends for awhile due to study abroad next semester. I finished my last final paper on Monday and emailed it in so I am officially done with 5/8 of college (so scary and sad)!
Now that it's the end of December it has been application crunch time for high school seniors. Good luck guys! I personally applied Early Evaluation for Wellesley. I would definitely recommend doing the early evaluation. The deadline is January 1st, versus the regular decision deadline of January 15th so it's really not too much of a time crunch. Early evaluation, though it won't notify you of the school's decision definitively, will at least give you a good idea if you are likely, possibly or unlikely to get into Wellesley. Those decisions will be mailed out to you at the end of February. I definitely felt more at ease when I received the early evaluation at the end of February because January to April is a long time!
I remember being pretty nervous about submitting all of my college applications and supplements. Do not do what I did and leave a few pieces until the last minute. I remember putting the finishing touches on a Barnard supplement a few hours before it was due. My last minute advice on college apps is be yourself, be honest, do get a second opinion from a sibling/friend/teacher/parent/anyone and remember to proofread! Even though I was nervous looking back, you really don't need to be nervous especially if you have done your research and put effort into your applications. Don't be afraid to click "submit" and then reward yourself for completing the college application process. As always, if you have any questions about Wellesley or the application process, leave me a comment and I promise I'll respond!
I'm being called to decorate a Christmas tree so I will leave you with my final installment of Lake Waban, enjoy!
