So I’ve had a relatively uneventful week. I think the biggest thing I’ve accomplished since last Wednesday has been starting and finishing Season 3 of House of Cards this past weekend. Friday through Sunday, that’s pretty much all I did. and I have no regrets. This season wasn’t as good as the other two (season 2’s my fav) but for a TV show addict like me, Frank and Claire Underwood’s lives are something I can’t not binge watch.
~ My weekend in Instagram Posts ~
Other than Watching HoC, I went in to town to hang with friends, and spent some time chilling in our room with my best friend and roommate. Seriously, look at that view!!!!!!!! I wrote a long post last week just about how much I love my room(mate). But honestly I can’t believe I get to call this place home sometimes.
In other news, I’m looking in to summer internships as well as study abroad opportunities. Last semester, I was pretty set on staying at Wellesley all 8 semesters of my time here, but I applied to program in Copenhagen, Denmark called DIS anyway. And now I really want to go. DIS offers a public health program that I would love to be a part of, because there isn’t a set Public health department or program existing here at Wellesley. My studies here are mostly in the Women’s and Gender Studies department (my major) and my concentration is in Health, Science, and Bioethics but it would be great for me I think to be able to study Public Health from professors who specialize in these areas.
For Summer, I honestly have no clue what I’m doing, other than going home to Tokyo. I really want to find a job or internship with a Non-Profit or any organization in the field of Women’s and/or Children’s health. I met with one of my WGST professors to talk about what I should be doing to prepare for summer, and she was really helpful with directing me towards resources that could help me find internship opportunities within my areas of interest. It made me realize I should go to my professor’s office hours more. That’s one of the many great things about going to a small liberal arts college – having teachers who care about your success as a student as well as an individual seeking their passion.
Yesterday was Japanese Girls’ Day, or Hinamatsuri. This was me as a toddler – my friend Jalena told me I’m like Benjamin Button because I looked so old as a baby(T_T) LOL
Anyway. Happy Girls’ Day to you all and hope you have a warm, productive week.
