Switching Gears into Grind Mode

Hi blog!!

As the thanksgiving festivities subside, I returned back to campus on Monday. It was a very relaxing and much needed break. I started my break by going to Los Angeles as mentioned and was there for the first three days. After LA, I flew down to Miami alongside my parents and sister where I was met by my two half-sisters and my boyfriend. I had two Thanksgiving celebrations which was very nice in the moment. Yet, as I put on my jeans on Friday, I certainly felt the two rounds of heaping thanksgiving plates I had scarfed down.

My first-year roommate’s family recently moved to Miami so we hung out over the break. We went rollerblading. This was actually my first-time rollerblading—I inevitably fell a few times initially, but towards the end, I really got the hang of it. After rollerblading, she and I went out to a bar with a few of our friends. Quite frankly, it was so nice to be back in warm weather where we were able to go outside without needing to worry about jackets, etc.

While the break was much needed, it certainly has made it hard for me to focus and get back to grind mode now that I’m back on campus. Next week is probably going to be the most challenging I’ve had this semester. I have a presentation on my final paper on Monday, a take-home exam on Tuesday, another presentation on my final paper on Wednesday (for a different class), and a policy paper due on Thursday. Needless to say, it’ll be hectic and I should’ve done more work over the break to tackle this upcoming week.

Till next time,

Lynsey
