Time flies in Córdoba. Today marks three weeks since I arrived. I know my time here is short, so in order to avoid getting sad about that, I’m focusing more on living in the present than I ever have. Each day is a surprise. Planning is impossible. So I go one day at a time.
Today, on the blog, some photos:
Most classes take place in a classroom in the old part of town, but my environmental studies class meets at the Rabanales campus of the University of Córdoba. It’s pretty! It reminds me of Wellesley because it’s an enclosed campus.
On Thursday, I didn’t have time to go home between the train from Rabanales and my photography workshop, so I ate a veggie burger in a park and then read. I’m reading Un cuento perfecto by Elísabet Benavent and thoroughly enjoying it!
My host mom made a dish with chickpeas and spinach that was definitely one of the best things I’ve eaten in Spain. I ate it with bread, of course. I’m always eating bread.
I went to the archeological museum of Córdoba for the first time! I posed with “torso of an athlete” because I also have a torso of an athlete and I’m easily amused.
The ancient jewelry at the museum was super interesting! This Star of David caught my eye.
I got up early on Saturday to go for a run before our field trip. I caught a beautiful sunrise from a bridge. I want to bring my camera one morning and get better photos.
Yesterday, we took a trip to see the ruins at Torreparedones. The views were incredible.
The views from Torreparedones were so cool! Note all the olive trees.
Today, my host mom and her boyfriend took us to the Almodovar Castle, where some scenes of Game of Thrones were filmed.
Flowers in a town called Cañete de las Torres! This year, Córdoba is celebrating its 100th patio festival.
