Stay positive!

Hi everyone,

I hope you’re well. I am because today is a good day. It’s so beautiful outside! You wouldn’t even believe that we are in mid-late February. It’s warm and sunny and I am about to take my t-shirts, skirts, flip flops and fan out of my suitcases and boxes haha!

Today is also a happy day because I do not have classes on Wednesdays! I was a little slow at the CSC this morning because I did not hear my alarm and I overslept, but the children are too cute and alert from 8:30AM so I had to be as well. It was all worth it in the end.

I’m going into Harvard Square later to hang out with some of the girls from my initiate class. I went to a final club for the first time last weekend with my Wellesley little sister and fellow initiate Marcia, her friend, and my childhood friend. After going around for a little while, we decided to stay at the Owl for the rest of the night. There was a good vibe, great music, several Wellesley students and it was so much fun! I would advise you to check it out when you become a college student if you’re in the Boston-Cambridge area.

Today is also a special day because EE notifications come out at 5PM today and some of you will know by the end of the day whether you are likely to become a member of the Wellesley College Class of 2016 or not. It’s particularly exciting for me because a) I was an EE applicant myself so I can totally relate to what you’re feeling right now if you’re and EE applicant waiting for your decision and b) the start of your first year will mark the beginning of my third year at Wellesley though it seems like it was only yesterday that I arrived here on campus myself. I remember coming to Wellesley for the first time with my family on the day of orientation/first day of college and I was really impressed and pleased. There was so much love in the air from the residence life team and the other students! My family and I got lost twice that day and Wellesley felt like it was a big campus that I would never be able to get used to. But it’s not the case – primarily because we also happen to be pretty bad when it comes to directions and going places in the family LOL. I admit that there are still some places on campus that I haven’t visited like Casa Cervantes, Homestead, Instead and Lake House, but I don’t think our campus is that huge. We’re only about 2300 students, after all… I will say, though, that it is a beautiful campus and there’s virtually everything you would need here or in Boston to make you feel at home for 4 years. Our theme was “You Belong” during my orientation and everything was done to make me feel welcome and a part of the Wellesley community. I wish you lots and lots of luck if you’re expecting a decision later today and I hope you all get something positive! 🙂

By the way: Happy Ash Wednesday to all of you who celebrate this day! There was a service at the Chapel earlier today but I couldn’t attend. I’m considering deactivating my Facebook account again this year for Lent… But I can always reply to comments on my blog posts so post post away! 🙂
