I am feeling slightly better this week. Yes, I have a lot of work to do still, but I’m not feeling as overwhelmed as I had in the past couple weeks – possibly because I managed to finish my Astronomy problem set on time, which I did not think possible. It might also have something to do with an essay I recently got bad, for which I received the best grade I have achieved on an essay throughout my entire Wellesley career. I’m also feeling better about my decision to switch jobs. I was not sure I had made the right decision last week, which was stressing me out a bit, but I can honestly say that I don’t hate it! The new store just opened last week, so the environment in the workplace is completely different, but I like the people and appreciate the learning experience. Thankfully, I am also still in great terms with everyone at my old job, and am still spending too much time at the store, except now I am studying in the customer area rather than behind the bar. So, although it is still a tough week, and I still have too many assignments due, I don’t feel like they’re impossible to finish anymore.
One thing that I don’t particularly like about this week, however, is the weather. Rather than a smooth transition from TOO HOT to TOO COLD, the change was sudden and unwelcomed. I don’t know if the change hit me more strongly because I was not here last winter, but I can tell you it is certainly too cold to spend time outside for no reason. I’m sure I’ll get used to it soon enough, perhaps after investing in a better coat, but I will be hiding in my room or at cafes in the meantime. That’s the great thing about cold weather, isn’t it? Spending time indoors, heater or fireplace keeping you warm, curling up with a good book (or laptop if you need to write). There’s a bright side to everything. I gotta get back to my essay writing, but I wish you luck in your own midterms!!
