First of all, I want to direct you to my own personal blog where I have posted recent pictures of Wellesley. If you go back a bit, you will also find some from last year. The Wellesley College Campus is beyond beautiful, and it played a factor in my decision to apply here. I think you all would love it just as much as I do.
I had one of those weeks involving a lot of Netflix and singing loudly to music I haven’t learned yet. I’ve hit that lull that comes when the rush of starting out a new semester starts to wear off but the end of it is too far off. It is also starting to get very cold (the temperature is at 3° F as I write this), but true to New England Weather I also had to turn on my AC twice this week. I don’t think I am ready for the cold just yet, but I am really looking forward to not having to check the weather every morning for the lows and highs and somehow concoct an outfit that will work throughout the day, as well as excited to wear my collection of sweaters and scarves.
That being said, the week had its share of highs as well. I got work done, watched a really inspiring video (that I will leave right here for you), and lost my breath to laughter quite a few times. Fun fact about myself: I laugh a lot. I’ve been known to laugh at even the most mundane things. I swear I must have hard rock abs hiding somewhere.
This week I had to record a video for my Chinese class with a few of my classmates. The prompt was pretty broad, basically just giving us a list of situations we had to include, so we decided to base our skit off Pixar’s Inside Out. I have been dying to watch this movie since I first heard of it, but I still have not gotten around to it. I thought it was a great idea, and doing this just made me watch it all the more. Recording was a lot of fun. You have to half-memorize your lines and make sure you understand the meaning of what you are saying so you can improvise if you forget anything. The greatest problem is getting the pronunciation right on the first try; tones are absolutely insane. Maybe I will post the finished product here if I get all of my classmates’ permission.
I’ve had a lot of homework, essays, and tests for all of my classes. That means a lot of late nights and a lot of coffee, reinforcing my night owl, coffee addict persona. How anyone gets 8+ hours of sleep a night is beyond me, though I am well aware people are able to do this if they put the time into it. I am still taking the Strength Training PE class twice a week and usually do cardio two other days. I do feel healthier, but I am starting to wonder if I need to change my diet a little more. I have heard Tower dining hall is best for diabetics, so I think I will try to go there more often.
I feel like I was a little all over the place for this blog, but this all has been on my mind for a while. I do have a bit of a secret project in the works now that I am hoping to share with you soon. We’ll see how long it takes to get done!
Until next time~
