A Day Trip to Bath, UK

Hello hello!

October is going by so fast! Back at Wellesley, I’ve heard that the leaves are changing and fall is in full swing. The same can be said over here in England! The trees are (slowly but surely) changing, and the weather has become noticeably chillier. This past week I was hit with the “fresher’s flu”, aka a bad cold that infects all of campus at the start of term and colder weather. During my lecture on Thursday, everyone (including the professor) was either coughing or sniffling. I’m feeling a lot better, so hopefully I’m back to normal soon (all that’s left is an evil cough).

Anyway, as I’m studying in the United Kingdom this semester, I really want to familiarize myself with the U.K. and all it has to offer. So, when my W friend studying abroad at UCL asked me if I wanted to take a quick trip to Bath, I agreed!

Bath was so much fun. For those of you who don’t know, Bath is famous for its Roman Baths (in the 17th century, Bath was seen as a spa town), and Georgian architecture. It’s only an hour and a half train ride away from London, and it was a lovely place for a day excursion. We not only went on a free walking tour, but in the course of the day, we managed to explore the entire city, marvel at the old buildings, and hike to a vista that overlooked the city.

These homes on a hill reminded me of SF!

This area is called “The Circus”

I love finding cute side streets like this one.

A view of bath from the trek we did (see if you can spot the train!)

Golden hour…right before we said goodbye.

I’m keeping this week’s post short… but I, like always, will see you next week!

Cheers,

Shreya
