Summer in the City!

Hi everyone!

After two weeks at home and a weekend in San Francisco, I’m back in Boston for the summer and it has been magical! My internship at the Medical Legal Partnership Boston (MLPB) started two weeks ago and so far, so good. I’ve been settling in, and completing my first reading assignments (four incredible books, which I’ll talk more about next time!)

My office workspace

Adjusting to Boston in the summer has been so effortless. It’s warm out, green everywhere, and such a lovely atmosphere.

I’m living at Northeastern, in a suite with three other Wellesley girls. We cook together, go to farmer’s markets, walk to Target after work, and end our evenings watching Game of Thrones. Needless to say, we’ve become close very fast. Northeastern is conveniently located on two T stops and is full of busy college students interning, or taking summer classes. It’s definitely been a change from life at Wellesley!

My internship requires that I work 35-40 hours a week. I get to the office at 8am, and leave at around 4pm. Usually, I walk home after work. It takes me about an hour and through Beacon Hill, Boston Common/Public Garden, and Back Bay. The walk back is always enjoyable and allows me to spend an hour everyday exploring and learning more about this incredible city!

Last weekend, my roommate and I decided to take full advantage of the warm weather, and head to the coast! When I last went to Manchester-by-the-Sea, it was cold, overcast, and in November (I have a blog post on it here!). When I went last weekend, it was the complete opposite: warm, sunny, and absolutely beautiful. After almost missing our train, we spent all of Saturday lounging on the beach and basking in the sun.

A perfect day

I know it’s a short first post of the summer, but I promise next week I’ll be back with all the details: including how my internship is going, what I’ve been cooking, and possibly a day in my life at MLPB!

Stay tuned for summer updates,

Shreya
