Spring Break and Updates

Happy April! I’m back on campus after spring break and school’s been busy. This week, I’ve been studying for Chinese and Econ tests. I also have to revise a paper for my first year writing class. If you don’t know what that class is, every Wellesley first year has to take a writing class in their fall or spring semester. The classes are on a variety of topics and before school starts, you rank which writing class you want to take and you are assigned one (hopefully the class you ranked first!) My class is about eighteenth century Chinese history and it’s pretty interesting.

I flew back home for spring break, but I know a lot of other Wellesley students stayed on campus and went to New York City or other places on the east coast. Wellesley spring break was late this year compared to other colleges and I only saw two of my friends back home. I did homework with my friend at her college’s library and it was fun to act like the student of another college for a day. My aunt visited too, which was also fun. I wish spring break was longer, but I think that’s because the month-long winter break spoiled me.

Otherwise, there’s only about a month left in the semester. I cannot believe how fast this semester and my first year of college has gone by. I have to register for fall courses and housing soon. The saying that “the days are long, but the years are short” is very real.. An update on my semester goals: interning for WZLY, the student radio station, is going well and I’m taking my tests to become a DJ soon. My sleep schedule could be better; I’ve been going to bed really late recently because of my upcoming tests and I think it’ll improve after those are done. As for exercise, I’ve started walking on the treadmill in my dorm’s basement and I want to swim again when it’s warmer. I’ve learned that I need to join a regular activity to exercise. I’m currently taking my PE yoga class but I’m considering joining a club sport like water polo in the fall. We will see….

Thanks for reading! I’ll include photos from spring break.
