I mentioned in my first post this year that I have three back-to-back classes twice a week. There’s a ten minute passing period between each class and it’s not easy, but it’s managable and today you get a peek of my day.
On those mornings, I try to eat a good breakfast because I know I won’t get to eat lunch for a while. Recently, I’ve been having oatmeal or a bagel with cream cheese with orange juice for breakfast. Then, my first class of the morning is Chinese. I’ve been learning Chinese in school since elementary school and I really enjoy it. It’s a difficult language, but it’s rewarding to learn.
After Chinese, I have my first year writing class and it’s pretty interesting. Luckily, it’s in the same building and just one floor below my Chinese class. This class is about eighteenth century Chinese history and it’s a more discussion based course.
Then it’s my introductory statistics course. This course is at the science center, so I have to make the walk over from the quad. On the way there, I try to eat a granola bar since I’m usually a bit hungry at this point. This class is large compared to many Wellesley classes, more than forty people, because the other two sections of the course were canceled and more seats were added to this section.
I really like this class and the professor. I took AP Statistics in high school and enjoyed it, so I’m glad this class is good as well. This is also a required introductory course if I want to major in Data Science or minor in Statistics.
My class ends at 2pm and then I’m done! I usually walk over to Bates, the closest dining hall to the science center, to eat lunch. Lunch ends at 2pm, so I try to get there quickly.
Three back-to-back classes is obviously tiring, but definitely not as bad as I expected. It is sort of nice to get my classes done without waiting in between. I see benefits to both having time in between your classes and having them back to back.
Thanks for reading and I’ll include photos from the week!
