Valentine’s day and books

Hi everybody!

I hope you are having a great week. Things are great here at Wellesley. Valentine’s Day was this week, so there were a lot of things happening around campus. The biggest and most fun one was definitely the WellNESSt Festival. It was a really cool place that involved us learning about the different aspects of wellness through games, trivia, and other activities, while also earning tickets to spend on playing with therapy dogs, delicious food, and massages. Honestly, I really think it was successful as it combined meaningful learning and fun. Also, one of my friend’s birthday is on Valentine’s Day, so we got her flowers and had cake in the Common room.

I had some free time this week, which was great as I had ordered some books, and they arrived earlier this week. I had time to sit down and enjoy some reading, which is one of my favorite relaxation activities (although, a lot of the time reading is anything but relaxing and calm, am I right?). Here are the books I got:

Sadly, I have only had time to read the middle one. I chose to read it as during the Winter Break I (finally) watched Heartstopper, and I was in the mood for a similar type of romance. The premise of the book is honestly very much cliche for the teen romance genre: the son of the president of the US falls in love with the prince of the UK. BUT, I swear, the book is really cute and worth reading.
I never thought I would say this, but I kind of miss my reading assignments from last semester. As this semester I am only taking STEM classes, the types of homework I have are very similar: problem sets, lab reports, and more problem sets. I specifically chose this schedule as last semester’s humanities classes were too much for me, and I struggled a lot with the writing of papers (which I absolutely don’t miss) and the reading (which I miss a bit).

That’s it from me for this week. Here’s a pretty picture from the campus from yesterday. Stay safe!
