What a Wellesley Student Eats in a Day

Lately, I’ve seen a lot of “What I eat in a day” posts on social media. So, I decided to write one for what I, a Wellesley student, eats on an average day.

My breakfast depends on the weekday: if I have many classes that day, I’ll eat a full breakfast in Lulu. This week, I had a bagel and some honeydew. If I don’t have back-to-back classes and I can eat lunch after my first class, I won’t have breakfast at the dining hall. Instead I’ll just have something smaller that I already have in my room, like a banana or granola bar.

This week, I ate lunch twice in Tower Dining Hall. On Monday, I had pasta with marinara sauce and some kale and cucumber slices on the side. On Thursday, I made myself a sandwich using the panini press.

I went swimming at the KSC this Monday too. It was great to get back in the pool and exercise. I was hungry after swimming since I don’t eat beforehand, so I ate dinner at Lulu. Lulu serves this notorious dish called chicken tinga; you can choose what you want on your dish, but it basically consists of lettuce, rice, beans, guacamole, chicken, pico de gallo, and sauces (I usually choose sour cream). I ate it and it’s always very tasty and filling.

For dessert, I usually eat an apple or pear. Wellesley dining halls have pretty good ice cream too. A school favorite is a flavor called Graham Central Station. I think the best ice cream is at Bates Dining Hall; Bates serves all kinds of gelato flavors, like captain crunchberry, red velvet, pumpkin cheesecake, pineapple, coffee, etc.

I think Wellesley’s food is pretty good compared to what I’ve heard about other colleges’ dining hall food. The Stone Davis dining hall also only serves kosher, vegan, and vegetarian food for those looking for more inclusive options.
