A day in Boston

Hello everybody!

Wellesley is a great place, there’s absolutely no doubt about that. However, sometimes it’s good to get out of the “Wellesley bubble.” To do that, I love going to Boston and just walking around for a while in a different environment in the lively city. So, to cheer myself up that is exactly what I did this last Monday.

Practically, there was an objective to my going into the city – to buy shoes – but in reality, I just wanted to explore a bit on my own. During my gap year, I traveled around a lot throughout Europe, and since I was mostly on my own, I learned how to have a good time alone. I had a general direction in mind, but I mostly let my sense lead me. The funny part is that this way I ended at Primark in Downtown Boston, which is a place I went to the last 3 times I was in the city. Even though I was trying to get lost, I still ended up in a place I knew.

As I was walking around Newbury street (this is a really popular and busy street in the city that I somehow had avoided for the most part up until now), I was looking at the buildings. Honestly, I think that the contrast between the older building and the newer skyscrapers is kind of really cool.

In the end, I ended up missing the bus to Wellesley, so I had more time to walk around the river near the MIT campus. I think I took a thousand pictures of the water and the buildings around it. It looked really nice since the sun was up, but it was starting to go down, and so the sky had a yellowish color to it.

This week otherwise has been pretty busy – since the last time I wrote in the blog, I have had three midterms (that I think went well), and I was at the birthday party of one of my friends on Saturday.

I guess that’s it from me for this week. See you next week! Stay safe!
