A Letter to Junior Year

Dear Junior Year,

Wow, you were no joke! As the semester is about to draw to a close, let’s take a look back at this year and reflect on the lessons I’ve learned and the growth I have made. I started this school year off in a different country, in a different time zone, at a different school having a totally different experience than the Wellesley I know. For those who didn’t know, I studied abroad in Dublin, Ireland for the fall semester and had an amazing time. It was scary, challenging, so fun and an incredible opportunity that I am so grateful for.

The great thing about studying abroad was that it forced me to explore and become more outgoing than I ever have been. If you have any interest in hearing about my experience abroad, feel free to check out my blogs from September–December of last year, it was all while I was in Dublin! Aside from the great time I had while I was abroad, being back on campus felt even more special this time around. I am on the lacrosse team, and the season was certainly a tough one. Mentally, physically and emotionally it was draining but still a group I am grateful to be a part of.

This spring semester has challenged me in ways I never thought possible. I am so grateful for all the spring has brought and was even more excited to be able to take five courses I am so interested in. With the spring, I was able to select courses that I am even more interested in for the following fall semester. All in all, I am looking forward to the ways that I will be forced to grow in the coming year.

Junior year, you were a pleasure to be a part of but certainly one of the most trying times I have ever had to endure. The lessons that I have learned are immeasurable and will be able to impact me for the rest of my time at Wellesley.

Until next semester,

Anna Tutek
