Spring is in the air!

Hi everyone!

I don’t know what it is about the week after spring break, but somehow it is always a really busy and tiring one. The campus just feels gloomier and quieter than normal. I personally like to blame it on the disrupted sleeping schedules. But the positive side is that since spring break ended, the semester is almost over and spring is coming to our beautiful campus.

I really love spring in Wellesley. I am used to the darker winter months as this is the weather in Bulgaria as well, but that doesn’t mean that I like them (okay, winter has its advantages and pretty views though). We didn’t really have snow this winter, which is unusual. I couldn’t even go sledding this year, and sledding down Severance Hill is an important Wellesley tradition.

Spring is an entirely different experience. There are flowers everywhere, the campus looks so bright and green, and there are animals (deers, squirrels, rabbits, birds, geese, ducks) running around. The flowers might be my favorite part though. I purposefully go out of my way to go look at the daffodils behind Stone-Davis. Looking at the flowers on my way to the Science Center also gives me some extra motivation to go to my morning classes on time.

Some flowers!

More flowers!

The other weekend I woke up to the sounds of a guitar in the Tower Court backyard coming from my window. I really love that time of the year where the weather permits us to just sit outside  and enjoy the beauty around us. And honestly there’s no better place to do that, to sit with your friends outside or have a picnic, than the Tower backyard.

This week however it has been raining almost every day. There was even some hail today! I honestly kind of enjoyed that because it reminded me of home. I am looking forward to next week though because the weather is going to be really gorgeous. I will give you updates about that next week!
