Re: Final Chance to Vote for Wellesley to Win a Webby
Date: April 20, 2017

Today is the final chance to vote for Wellesley’s campaign microsite in the prestigious Webby Award competition. The New York Times calls the Webby “the internet’s highest honor,” and this year, Wellesley’s site is competing for votes from the public to earn the People’s Choice Award in the school and university category.

Launched in October 2015, Wellesley’s campaign microsite was designed to serve as a virtual community and to remind each alumna visitor of the transformative role Wellesley played in her life. One of the most popular destinations for visitors to the site is the campaign film, This Is The Place, directed by award-winning documentary filmmaker Mary Mazzio. Additionally, a series of short films and StoryCorps audio clips on the site celebrate Wellesley women across generations. And hundreds of alumnae have shared their “voices,” describing what the Wellesley Effect means to them.

The microsite’s nomination in the school and university category places it among the top 9 percent of all websites vying for one of this year’s coveted awards. Nominees are selected by the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences.

A win for our microsite will raise visibility and recognition for both the campaign and the College—and might even motivate a new wave of gifts!
