Re: Accreditation Self Study Is Available for Review
Date: February 25, 2019

The Accreditation Steering Committee is pleased to announce that the College’s confidential self-study narrative is available for your review prior to the visiting team’s arrival on March 10. You will find it under MyWellesley in the Administrivia tab under the For Everyone heading.

The information required in the self study is proscribed by the New England Commission on Higher Education and is specified in the Standards for Accreditation. The nine standards cover all aspects of our academic and co-curricular program, grounded in our mission, and include discussion of our finances, our buildings, and our community. Your feedback at the end of last semester helped us ensure that we have focused on the most important topics, that what you read rings true to you, and that we provide our visiting team with the appropriate level of candor.

If you are ready to start reading now, please log in to MyWellesley and review the documents. In addition, two copies of the self-study narrative will be available to check out at the Clapp Service Desk for reading within the library.

The visiting team will be at Wellesley from March 10 to 13, 2019. During that time, the team members will meet with various campus stakeholders, and all faculty, staff, and students are invited to open sessions with them. We hope you will take this opportunity to speak with the visiting team about your Wellesley experience and aspirations for the College over the next 10 years and encourage other community members to join you. Sessions are scheduled as follows:

  • Students: Monday, March 11 at 6 pm in the Academic Council Room
  • Faculty: Tuesday, March 12 at 4:30 pm in the Jewett Auditorium
  • Staff: Tuesday, March 12 at 4:30 pm in Tishman Commons

We ask that you inform us of your plan to attend an open session so that we can ensure the room is properly set up and refreshments are available. Thank you for your assistance in preparation for the visit and for welcoming the visiting team to Wellesley.
