Re: Changes to Move-In Health and Safety Protocols Due to COVID-19
Date: July 24, 2020

The College has been closely monitoring the rising incidences of COVID-19 infection in certain states. In response to this dynamic situation, we have implemented a number of additional health and safety protocols for students coming to campus from these high-incidence states. Earlier this afternoon, I shared new information with all students coming to campus, as well as with their families.

These changes go significantly beyond the new travel rules from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts that were released just today, which specify that people arriving in Massachusetts from any state other than those designated as lower risk may avoid the 14-day quarantine if they test negative immediately before or once they arrive, with a quarantine just until the test results are returned. The rigorous testing protocols and staggered move-in schedule we are implementing will allow us to begin in-person instruction as planned on August 31.

The additional measures we are taking are designed to protect the health of our students and our entire campus community.

Thank you for your continued support of our students, and for your dedication to providing an excellent academic experience at Wellesley in the coming year.
