Re: Nominate a Student for a 2024 Camellia Student Leadership Award
Date: February 21, 2024

The Division of Student Life is pleased to announce that nominations for the 2024 Camellia Student Leadership Awards are now open. Established in 2018, the awards honor students who demonstrate exemplary leadership through active and sustained engagement on campus and in the broader community. We will welcome nominations for this year’s awards until March 29.

The awards are named after the Durant camellia, one of the longest-lasting gifts of Wellesley’s founders, Henry and Pauline Durant, to the College. An elegant example of a species of flowering tree, the Durant camellia is a symbol of resilience and ongoing growth and has borne silent witness to the development of outstanding leaders throughout the College’s history. The Camellia Student Leadership Awards acknowledge students whose leadership is also marked by personal growth, community development, and lasting impact.

All members of the Wellesley College community are invited to nominate students who they feel exemplify the spirit of the awards. Please visit the website to learn more about the 10 award categories for individuals and groups, submit a nomination, and see a list of previous award recipients.

All nominators are invited to join us as we celebrate our nominees and recipients on Monday, April 29, with an awards ceremony in the Alumnae Ballroom followed by an outdoor reception.
