Tuesday, September 24 –

  • Grad School Tuesdays [new for 2013!] | 12:15 pm-1:30 pm | Wang Campus Center, 2nd floor  The CWS will offer graduate school drop-ins on Tuesdays from 12:15-1:30pm on the second floor of the Wang Campus Center, east Entrance, on Tuesdays during the fall semester when classes are in session. In addition, up to two graduate schools may be visiting campus and will have a drop-in table next to the CWS counselor. Make sure to check MyCWS for the most up-to-date listing of which graduate schools are attending.
  • Advanced Workshop: Using social media in the job search | 12:30 pm-1:30 pm | PNE 130 – Join the CWS to learn how to use social media as part of your job/internship search strategy. We will review best practices on using LinkedIn, Twitter and Facebook in a professional way. Suggested audience: sophomores, juniors & seniors. Space is limited to 25 students per workshop. Please make sure to RSVP!
  • The Changing Landscape of Out-of-School Time: from Child Care to After School and Teenage Career Readiness Programs | 4:15 pm-6:00 pm | PNE 239 – A talk with Ellen Gannett M.Ed, Director of the National Institute on Out-Of-School Time. Presented by the Education Department.
  • The Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab (J-PAL) Info Session | 4:30 pm-6:00 pm | Check MyCWS for location – The Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab (J-PAL) was established in 2003 as a research center at the Economics Department at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Since then, it has grown into a global network of researchers who use randomized evaluations to answer critical policy questions in the fight against poverty. Come and meet representatives from J-PAL and learn about their career opportunities.
  • Harvard, Penn and Yale MBA Panel | 4:30 pm-6:00 pm | PNE Atrium Meet senior admissions representatives from Harvard Business School, Wharton (Penn) and Yale School of Management. We’ll talk about the flexibility of the degree,  what happens in our programs and what kinds of people we’re looking for. Please make sure to RSVP in MyCWS.
  • Simon-Kucher & Partners Info Session | 7:00 pm-8:30 pm | PNE 139 – Come and meet representative from Simon-Kucher & Partners and learn about their career opportunities. Business casual attire required. Please make sure to RSVP in MyCWS.

Wednesday, September 25 –

  • George Warren Brown School of Social Work, Washington University of St. Louis Info Session | 12:30 pm | CWS library (GRH 442) – Join Jamie Bolar, Admissions and Recruitment to learn more about the many graduate school opportunities available. Please RSVP in MyCWS.
  • Alternative Breaks Info Session | 12:30 pm-1:30 pm | PNE 239 – The CWS is proud to announce the introduction of a new Alternative Breaks program on campus this year! Alternative Break (AB) trips provide a unique opportunity for students to participate in an intensive public service experience while increasing their understanding of significant social and environmental problems. Alternative breaks challenge students to critically think and react to problems faced by members of the communities they are involved with. Being immersed in diverse environments enables participants to experience, discuss, and understand social issues in a significant way. Please make sure to RSVP on MyCWS.
  • Idealist Grad School Fair | 5:00 pm-8:00 pm | Boston University, School of Management – The Idealist Grad Fair can help you make a difference in your career! At the fair, you can: Learn about admissions requirements and application deadlines for graduate programs in social work, public policy, nonprofit management, international affairs, public interest law, social entrepreneurship, and many more; speak with graduate admissions advisors from local, national and international universities.   • Charles River Associates Info Session | 6:00 pm-7:30 pm | PNE 139 – Charles River Associates is a leading global consulting firm that provides independent economic and financial analysis behind litigation matters, guides businesses through critical strategy and operational issues to become more profitable, and advises governments on the economic impact of policies and regulations. Our two main services – litigation and management consulting – are delivered by practice groups that focus on specific areas of expertise or industries. Paul Maleh (CEO), John Griffin (Finance Practice Leader), and CRA Wellesley alumni are hosting a job talk to give students a sense of the opportunities available, both for those seeking full-time employment after graduation, as well as juniors interested in in applying for internships next summer. CRA Wellesley alumnae who will be attending include Alyssa Nam ’12 (Financial Markets Practice), Rosa Deng ’10 (Life Sciences Practice), and Andrea Goodman ’92 (Director of Corporate Communications).
