Monday, October 20 –
- Marine Corps Officer Programs Info Session | 11:00 AM-1:00 PM | Lulu Wang Center – Have you ever thought about serving in the Marine Corps as a commissioned officer? Major Beth-Anne Canero, the Commanding Officer of RS Springfield, and Captain Stacey Lanham, the Officer Selection Officer, will be conducting an information session about their experience in the Marines. They are available to answer your questions, talk about what drew them to service and the USMC, and advise you if the Marine Corps will be a viable avenue for you. If you want to be challenged mentally and physically, developed into a proven leader, and, more importantly, gain valuable experience leading Marines across thirty different career fields, take 10 minutes to drop by and visit.
- Resume Basics Workshop | 12:30-1:30 PM | GRH 428 – Come and learn about how to get started on creating or improving your resume. Please RSVP in order to participate. You can bring your laptop or hard copy resume to the event as we will provide hands-on tips, if need, regarding your resume. Space is limited so make sure to RSVP on MyCWS.
- Public Interest Network Info Session | 7:30-9:00 PM | PNE 139 – The Public Interest Network aims to organize and mobilize the public in order to win concrete social change. We carry out our mission through a variety of groups and campaigns, all of which use research, grassroots organizing, and political lobbying to educate the public, mobilize people who care, and put pressure on decision makers to make changes that thepublic supports. The organization I work with, US Public Interest Research Group, focuses on consumer protection issues such as the misuse of antibiotics on factory farms. We’re looking to hire graduating seniors (Class of 2015) to join us as Campaign Organizers. The position is a two year paid position that teaches passionate people how to use the tools of activism to promote practical solutions to social problems. RSVP on MyCWS.

MMG Partners is currently recruiting for the position of Business Analyst. - Literary Agents: A Career Panel Q & A | 4:15-5:30 PM | FND 120 – Curious what it’s like to work as a literary agent? - Pillars of Wall Street Training – Sponsored by Bank of America/Merrill Lynch | 6:00-9:00 PM | PNE 239 – Pillars of Wall Street provides real-world financial training for new and seasoned professionals, as well as university students. Founded by experienced financial instructors who are also former investment bankers, they offer in-house financial training for corporate clients, university seminars for undergraduates and MBAs as well as public courses for smaller groups and individuals. They use their experiences on Wall Street to emphasize practical applications, applying the same level of dedication in the classroom as that required to execute deals. - Katharine Timberman Wright Award Application Deadline | NOON | MyCWS – The Katharine Timberman Wright (KTW) Awards were established by the Wellesley College Alumnae Association to support and encourage an entrepreneurial spirit in community service. The awards recognize creative responses by Wellesley College students to perceived social needs, both on and off campus. Katharine Timberman Wright ’18 inspired these awards and exemplifies generations of Wellesley College women committed to community service. The awards are for projects that involve ten (10) or more students. The awards can be up to $750 depending on the design of the project and amount requested on the proposal. - Beha Community Engagement Grant Application Deadline | NOON | MyCWS – Beha Community Engagement Grant provides funding to support short-term, civic-engagement, student projects. Small, one-time grants of up to $300 for individuals and up to $600 for groups are awarded to support entrepreneurial student service projects. Preference will be given to projects relating to art and architecture. This money may only be used for projects that are directly related to a nonprofit organization and/or community partner and must address a social and/or economic need of a community with a preference given for projects relating to art and architecture. Money cannot be transferred to another project. Unused money must be returned to the fund. Grant funds may not be used for reimbursement of expenses incurred prior to your application.
