A warm welcome to the Class of 2016 and welcome back to the classes of 2013, 2014 and 2015! As many of you may have noticed by now, since you’ve reached our new Center for Work and Service blog, the CWS had a busy summer! We are thrilled to debut our new and improved website.
Take a look: the new site will provide you with the resources to find a community service project, start your internship search, figure out how to write a resume or cover letter and explore how to plan for graduate school.
We are also rolling out some new communication features: Twitter and Facebook, which will provide you with even more career-related information, including information on all of our workshops, fairs, panels, clinics and deadlines– there are 75+ events on our fall calendar and we hope you’ll join us!
And, make sure you check your on-campus mailbox! We sent you a CWS checklist to help guide you through the year.
With all of these changes, there are some things that remain the same:
- We are located on the 4th floor of Green Hall.
- Our CWS interns are available to answer your questions, every day classes are in session from 8.30-4.30pm. Visit them in Green Hall 442!
- Drop-in hours are 12.30-2pm every day when classes are in session. Sign up to see a counselor to have your resume/cover letter reviewed or get an answer to a quick question (i.e. “how do I borrow a community service van from the CWS?” or “how do I start my internship search?”).
- Use MyCWS to make appointments with a CWS Counselor, view Wellesley-specific job and internship postings, and access resources such as Going Global and Vault.
We have big plans for this new blog, including guest posts from some fantastic Wellesley alumnae who we’ve invited to share insights and wisdom with you. So, stay tuned! We’re really looking forward to working with you this year.
