What’s happening with the CWS — week of 3/18 & 3/25

Tuesday, March 19 –

  • Direct Marketing Educational Foundation (DMEF) Student Career Forum Registration Deadline | RSVP online –  This event is a “must attend” for junior, senior, or graduate level students interested in exploring a career in marketing. The rapid growth of digital/interactive marketing has led to a shortage of qualified talent and career opportunities are vast. The Direct Marketing Educational Foundation Student Career Forum is taking place Tuesday, March 26th in NYC.

Friday, March 22 –

  • Philip G. Hubbard Law Prep Program Application Deadline | Apply online – This program seeks to support diversity in the legal profession by inspiring students from groups historically under-represented in the law to become lawyers and by providing them with the skills and assistance that will strengthen their preparation for law school.

Tuesday, March 26 –

  • Tax Prep Workshop | 5 pm | RSVP on MyCWS – Please join the staff from Slater International for a workshop on how to prepare your federal and Massachusetts state taxes using a new software and understand your tax obligations.

Wednesday, March 27 –

  • Albright Institute Application Deadline| NOON | CWS Library – Only members of the Classes of 2014 and 2015 are eligible to apply, with preference will be given to the Class of 2015. Please visit the Albright website for full application details.

Friday, March 29 –

  • Florida State Law Summer Undergraduates Program Application Deadline| Apply online  The Summer Program, which will be hosted May 20-June 13, 2013 on Florida State University College of Law’s campus, is an intensive, four-week program that gives students an “inside look” at law school and the legal profession.

  • Sport Management and Entertainment Executive Lecture and Career Fair | Saturday, March 23, 2013 –This event is open to any individuals interested in pursuing a career in the sports, marketing and entertainment industries. At 12:15pm, a panel of senior level executives from the sports industry will discuss their career paths and provide valuable advice for students interested in similar careers. Registration also includes a ticket to the New England Revolution home opener against Sporting Kansas City at 4:00pm at Gillette Stadium.
  • Michèle Respaut French House Fellows program | Application deadline April 15 – The Michèle Respaut French House Fellows program provides an opportunity for students to learn about French/Francophone politics and culture through placements in government offices, political and public interest groups, media organizations, private groups, and research and cultural institutions. Fellows from the Wellesley-in-Aix program will be selected to work in France or another francophone country for up to eight weeks during the summer. Fellows receive a stipend to help defray living expenses and an additional stipend for housing.
  • Adler Pollock & Sheehan Law Diversity Scholarship | Application deadline June 1 – A $10,000 scholarship to be awarded annually to a minority student entering his/her first year of law school.  The scholarship is given to students with a demonstrated commitment to academic excellence and simultaneous commitment to the community.
