Curious what a career in cancer research looks like? Us too! We asked Erin Connolly ’14 to takeover the MyCWS Instagram and give us an insider’s look into this field. Erin has been living and working in Boston since graduating from Wellesley last year. While at Wellesley, she majored in biology, and has been putting her degree to use in a research lab at Dana-Farber in the medical oncology department, conducting melanoma research. Her work focuses on identifying biomarkers in blood plasma that may help predict survivability in melanoma patients treated with drugs known as Yervoy and Avastin. She plans to be at Dana-Farber until she enters medical school in the fall of 2016. In her free time, she likes to study for the MCATs, play with her adorable bunny Sheldon, and explore more rural areas of Massachusetts.
