Emily Kirk Weddle ’14, Development and Communications Associate, joined Cantata Singers in July 2014. In her position, Emily is responsible for all print and online marketing materials, fundraising efforts, planning Cantata Singers events, and maintaining Cantata Singers’ social media and website. Prior to joining Cantata Singers, Emily participated in internship programs at the Peggy Guggenheim Museum, Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, and Maine Maritime Museum. Emily graduated cum laude from Wellesley College in May 2014 with honors in Music and Art History. She was an active member of the Wellesley College Choir and Residential Life. During her senior year, Emily wrote a thesis entitled The Powerhouses of Parisian Society: Female Patronage and the Ballets Russes in which she explored the powerful effects of four women’s patronage of productions by the Ballets Russes, featuring prominent cultural figures such as Maurice Ravel, Erik Satie, Igor Stravinsky, and Coco Chanel. She grew up in Brunswick, Maine with her two older sisters, Becky and Hannah, and her parents, Susan and Tom. She currently lives in Somerville, and enjoys cooking, baking, and reading in her free time.
