The past few months in France has really opened my mind about the things we can do to save the environment. I’ve started actively using an anti food-waste app. Not only does it save meals from being wasted, it also saves a lot of money. I’m hoping to continue using this app back in the States and help combat environment changes at the click of a finger. I’m also impressed with the French’s meticulous garbage sorting system as well as the convenient and widespread public transport system. The Paris metro is so convenient that it doesn’t really make sense to drive a car, which is more costly and might be slower than the metro during rush hour. This morning I went for a run in Parc Monceau and was really appreciative of the green spaces around me. The privilege of breathing in fresh air is not possible for many people living on this planet, so for those of us who have this privilege, I think it makes sense to spend more effort actively protecting the environment.
