#8: Activism (and Romania)

For my final prompt, I was writing my notes from my grandma’s house in rural Romania. It was so beautiful, and we were picking cherries. I smelled warm dirt and grass, saw green leaves, and felt hot, humid air. I heard birds and my great-aunt’s dog.

I wrote this sitting on the porch, and I wrote that I was feeling gratitude for being surrounded by nature and animals, especially because I would be leaving to NYC soon. I was thinking about my grandma’s house, and how it was unintentionally sustainable. There was no waste, she grew her own food, and we didn’t use much water/drank a lot of well water.

I would love to bring some of these practices into my life at Wellesley and beyond – especially because it’s better for health too. I felt happy in Romania, I want to keep that joy with me throughout this next year.
