When you are exploring a new town, finding a sit spot is always hard. You find all the architecture and the nature within the town so beautiful, it is hard to narrow down on one place, or even be comfortable with one spot being the spot that you will sit at for the whole time. I find a basic, central, and more nature-affiliated area of my campus to claim as my sit spot. It is in the quad between two buildings, and the way it is enveloped in the architecture of the area around makes something about it really cosy. Also, I love how even when it is really cold outside, the sun shining on the grass in this spot makes us appreciate its warmth and energy a lot more.
I notice the grass, as the sun shining on the grass just makes me feel very nature-y and serene. It is interesting how while the city of Oxford outside is so bustling, this spot has been able to retain its unchanging stillness. I also love how it embraces all types of weather and moods of the campus. Now when I am sitting on it, it is warmer, and there aren’t many students on campus as the Oxford Students have not arrived. (Just the study abroad group from the USA) Yet, soon, I am sure it will be the gathering places for events and fun, and the vibe will be very different, and it will be colder. I appreciate the ability of nature to create a surrounding that is accepting of all weathers and states of being.
