Recently I had my second day of volunteering at Woodberry Wetlands. The first day started with a lot of luck! It didn’t rain, and we were able to spend plenty of time removing weeds, replanting small trees, finding lots of worms, and talking a lot. It was incredible to meet people from different parts of the world and even an alum from the university where I’m doing my study abroad program. On the second day, we did all cleaning with everything that the London weather has to offer: rain, clouds, sun, and wind. I really enjoyed that!
Woodberry Wetlands opened in 2016, and the community seems to embrace the area that has brought so much life to the region. This week they opened the path that allows us to walk all around the lake, which reminded me of when the lake path was opened in Wellesley.
