When I wrote my notes for this prompt, I was in Switzerland, and it was a bit bizarre, because there was still snow on the mountains! I had moved from my sit spot from Bologna, and it was interesting switching from a climate that was warming up (and my sit spot was still green when I left) to an area that was significantly colder.
As I sat on the top of the mountain, I didn’t smell much – just cold. I saw fog and snow. Both Italy and Switzerland are environmentally engaged. In Bologna, they had strict recycling rules (in fact, my old apartment got fined). Switzerland is also very protective of its natural environment. It has gotten me thinking about our values in the US, and how environment is often at the bottom of the list for us.
