Audrey Sun – An Introduction

嗨!My name is Audrey Sun and I’m a junior at Wellesley College majoring in East Asian Languages & Cultures (Chinese concentration) and Biology. I’m one of the 2023 Ted Wang Fellows for Taiwan and am very excited to be spending the next six months here!

This semester, I’ll be studying at National Taiwan University (NTU) in Taipei as a student in the Chinese Literature Department. In addition to taking classes related to Chinese language, culture, and history, I’m also exploring new areas like sociology and public health. We’ve just finished the first week of the semester and it’s been hectic, but I’ve also really enjoyed learning new topics, meeting new people, and experiencing life as a college student here in Taiwan. While I’m here, I also hope to continue my hobbies and try new things by joining some clubs at NTU!

Throughout my time here, I’ll be conducting a series of interviews to better understand what it’s like to work and live in Taiwan. In the future, I plan to work in medicine and healthcare with a particular interest in global health, so some of my interviews will likely touch on these areas. I’ve already begun conducting these interviews and am excited to share what I learn from them on here~

As anyone who’s been to Taiwan can tell you, it’s a country that has so much to offer, from the beautiful nature, rich history & culture, delicious food (night markets!!), and absolutely amazing convenience stores 😀 I’ll definitely be sure to include pictures in my updates! Hope you all can join me in my travels and I’ll see you next time <3
