Introduction: Mira Chandriani

Hi everyone! My name is Mira Chandriani and I am a junior at Wellesley, double majoring in data science and economics. I am studying abroad this spring at National University of Singapore College (NUSC). I arrived in Singapore in early January and the semester is flying by!

As an NUSC student, I am taking one liberal arts course at NUSC and three lecture-style courses at NUS. While my NUSC course reminds me distinctly of Wellesley, my NUS courses are an exciting new experience. Big lecture classes with 200+ students and tutorials taught by TAs are giving me a taste of life at large universities. We just hit the half-way point of the semester so midterms are in full swing!

In addition to taking classes, I have also gotten the chance to explore Singapore over the past couple of months! One of my recent adventures was visiting Istana, the Singapore Presidential Palace. The Istana grounds are only open to the public a few times each year, so I jumped at the chance to visit! I have also been enjoying Singapore’s yummy food scene through hawker centers, which are centers packed with delicious street food from a variety of cultures.

During my time abroad, I am also connecting with Wellesley alums to learn about their career paths and lives in Singapore. I am excited to share what I learn from these alums and I hope you will follow along with my coffee chats!

If you have any questions about my experience in Singapore or as a Ted Wang Fellow, feel free to reach out to me at mc127@wellesley.edu. Thanks for reading!
