Oh man! This week is loaded with things to do and deadlines. I was in New Hampshire last week, and returned to Miami yesterday. I went to visit my boyfriend for his birthday, and it was a great time. He’s still in class as well so other than his birthday celebrations, we spent most of the time working together.
While there, we went on a hike in Vermont on Gile Mountain (see picture). The picture was taken on a tower built of metal rods with wooden steps on the stairway to the top of the tower. It was so scary going up the stairs because there were huge gaps in between each of the steps and there was no enclosement around the tower. The people we hiked with told us that on especially windy days you’ll feel the tower shake. Anyways, I bravely made it up the tower that had a 360 view and snagged this dope picture of the view. I also love cheese, and specifically fell in love with this cheese called grey owl that’s made in Canada and I’ve only ever been able to find it in NH. So when I went this week, I was on a mission to buy and eat grey owl. But, when we went to the store and couldn’t find it. They told us they no longer sell it because of issues with getting the cheese passed the U.S. border. It was such a heartbreak! Fortunately, I asked if they had any similar cheeses and the man at the store recommended one and it wasn’t too far off from my favorite.
For the past few weeks, I’ve been doing networking calls to help me determine my rotations for my summer internship. I’ve actually really enjoyed getting more to learn about the overall business at the bank and various desks in the division. However, it has taken away some of my time to study for midterms and approaching finals. I am really looking forward to the end of this year, and moving back to the semester system. I think this term has been particularly difficult because for one of my courses we have a paper or exam every Friday. So, once you submit something, you have to start working on the next thing. On top of that, I am still searching for housing in the city for my internship program. Phew! I think once I get through this week this will start looking a bit better.
