Only Five More Weeks Left at Oxford??

Hello hello! This past week has been eventful. I sprained my ankle! πŸ™ But not before I did a lot of sightseeing in Ox! πŸ™‚ Trying to make the most of my last few weeks here πŸ™

Also all my housemates came back from vacation!! We’re all so happy to be back together again <3 I didn’t realize how much I depended on them for daily human contact until I was all alone here over break and it got so lonely! Now we’re back to sharing meals, debriefing our days to each other every evening, and playing games and watching movies together πŸ™‚ I love it!!

I also can’t believe I only have 5 weeks left in this beautiful place now πŸ™ Time goes by too quickly! Though I’ll also be so excited to return to Wellesley πŸ˜€

And now here are some pictures from that day I was being a tourist in Ox–before I sprained my ankle! (While riding my bike.) These specifically are from the botanic garden!

I’ve also been watching a lot of Chinese movies this past week as I was stuck at home resting my ankle–decided to take the opportunity to strengthen my Chinese! Some that I’ve liked include:

ι—Ίθœœ – Girls (LOVED this one, great movie about female friendship and sisterhood; rarely represented on the screen!)

倱恋33倩 – Love Is Not Blind (not your usual romcom)

δΈ€εˆ‡ιƒ½ε₯½ – Everybody’s Fine (a great meditation on family dynamics and what it means to love your children/parents)

旒焢青ζ˜₯留不住 – Youth Never Returns (another romcom and also great window into university life in China–which is SO different from the US or UK)

Anyway, gotta run and go work on my next essay for an upcoming tutorial! Until next week πŸ™‚

~Em
