Hello everyone! I have a lot to tell you about because spring semester has been jam packed with activities for me thus far! As you may have heard, Madeleine Albright spoke on campus on January 25th. That woman is absolutely incredible. When she spoke, she was everything I expected her to be and more. Her speech was truly thought provoking. It made me reconsider many notions I had about foreign policy and diplomacy. It was an honor to hear her speak.
Madeleine Albright also served as fantastic motivation for the first day of classes (the day after her speech). Hearing about her success has really made me strive for my best in everything that I do. SO with my Albright inspired confidence in my back pocket, I made my way to QR, Writ 125 (Hitler: the man and the myth), German, and American Politics. My classes have actually been really interesting so far. It has seriously been difficult to pull myself away from the homework to do anything else at times! I also have nothing but praises to sing about my professors. Please – Leave comments if you want to hear more!!!!
This semester I have also been trying to become more involved on campus. I recently joined SAAC, the Student Athlete Advisory Committee. As a representative of the volleyball team, I discuss our team's experiences and am involved with making life for student athletes at Wellesley the best it can be. Also, I have decided to become pretty active with the College Democrats. There are some pretty interesting things going on in the political arena for America right now, and through lectures and discussion groups with the Dems, I hope to learn even more about it all! I'll also continue to be a member of Dead Serious, the improv group on campus. We're pretty hilarious, but I guess you're just going to have to take my word on that one.
In short – lots to do this spring! I'm confident it'll be a great semester, judging by the way it has gone so far!
This was the only picture I took during Madeleine Albright's speech. I was so intent on listening, I didn't even look at it. It looks like I was taking a picture of the microphone. Lame.
