Reevaluation and Registration

Before I get to the more serious stuff, I thought I’d tell you about my halloween.

I’m not the biggest fan of halloween — I haven’t ever really enjoyed it in the past, and didn’t think I would this year either. But I ended up going to the Rocky Horror Picture Show “viewing” on Wednesday and it was a lot of fun. I hadn’t ever seen the movie before (apparently I’m in the minority here haha) and to have seen it for the first time at Wellesley, with a shadow cast by the Shakespeare Society made for a great first time experience.

The next day, I also went to a party at a different college. When my friends and I got back to the senate bus stop (senate bus = weekend bus that takes connects wellesley students to boston) we saw a ton of fellow Wendy’s in costumes shivering. It made me laugh but also didn’t make up for the fact that it was ridiculously cold. already…

SO, spring registration is coming up very soon. as in a week from now. I can’t believe my first semester of wellesley is already more than half way done, and it’s time for me to start thinking about classes I want to take come January.

I’ve realized that by  fearing the stress and the pressure of starting college (like I’d been told about from upperclassmen), I didn’t push myself hard enough first semester. I took fairly easy courses which is not a bad thing necessarily, but I think starting next semester I’ll need to delve further in to my interests and choose classes that both challenge me and keep me wanting to learn more. I also strangely miss taking a math course (WHAT!? did i just say that.. I hope my calculus teacher sees this) so I think I’ll be taking Calc II next semester.

Also, I’ve started thinking about potential majors – Spanish? Women’s and Gender Studies? International Relations? Still a pretty broad spectrum, but believe me it’s a lot more narrowed than what I’d had in mind back in September.

From the classes I’Ve taken so far I know I still want to pursue the Pre-Medical path, but definitely want to major in a non-science field. It’s definitely helped a lot talking to upperclasswomen about their experiences, as well as attending lectures and events outside of classes. ^_^
