Staying Afloat

Hello blog, and happy Wednesday!

This has been kind of a rough week for me, so this blog will be dedicated to some of the little things to celebrate since I last wrote.

  • Anastasija’s Birthday!

My good friend Anastasija turned 20 last Thursday, so the two of us ordered McDonalds for dinner that night, and on Saturday we had a celebration with her whole block in the Caz basement!

Anastasija and I sent this picture to my friend Emma when we couldn’t find her after our McDonalds dinner

  • Pumpkin-Spiced Everything in the Dining Halls

Wellesley Fresh is really taking the season seriously and stepping it up with all of their apple and pumpkin flavored desserts. The absolute best was the apple cake I had at Lulu during the apple fest, but the desserts pictured below were all pretty close behind.

Pumpkin pie, a mini cupcake, a stuffed croissant, and “Great Pumpkin” gelato for Halloween brunch!

A pumpkin spice waffle from Lulu!

  • Halloween

The header image for this blog is many of the Bates student leaders right before Student Leader Trick-or-Treating on Halloween night; other highlights of my Halloweekend were the Guild of Carillonneurs Open Tower, my friend Emma’s Among Us Floor Program, and popcorn and The Great Muppet Caper with Emma on Friday night.

Burnout is a very real thing in college, especially at Wellesley, and there isn’t a lot of room in your schedule to breathe when you need a break here. In the absence of rest, often fun is the way I keep myself floating when it all feels like too much. There’s only a few weeks left until Thanksgiving break, and hopefully that will give me the energy I need to finish out the rest of the semester strong!

Sending you joy,

Andrew
